She passed on yesterday night. It is related to the cancer ailment that she’s been bravely fighting in the recent past,” Maina said. The legendary media personality hung her boots in 2013 after a long and decorated career in the media industry as a news anchor. Last year, however, she returned to the screens as a prime news anchor on KBC. Her stint at KBC was sadly short-lived as in November 2022, she announced she was battling cervical cancer. There was an outpouring of love and support for the beautiful anchor after the announcement in which she also appealed for blood donation and help with medical bills. “The last month has really been crazy for me, I want to take this moment and appreciate my family, colleagues in the media industry, the Catherine Kasavuli Foundation team, my doctors, friends, strangers, and online community; I wish I could respond to all your messages, I see them and I’m really humbled. May God remember you,” she said in November 2022.
