This was disclosed by FUFA boss Moses Hashim Magogo at the annual soccer body assembly held at Gulu’s Acholi Inn in Northern Uganda on Saturday October 15, 2022.

‘Out our own resources we generate from here, we have been funding out member associations to a tune of more than four hundred and ninety million (sh490m) annually. But now we are going to commit sh2.5bn to all our member associations and provinces starting next financial year,” Magogo announced with a unanimous applause from the more than 80 delegates and guests present.

Some of the delegates listen attentively during the meeting in Gulu City.

According to Magogo, the eight regional football associations will now get sh50m, up from sh25m; Special Interest Groups (SIG) will now receive sh2om, up from sh10m; while the 16 clubs in the Women Elite League will be funded to a tune of sh10m.

It was also good news for the 16 clubs in the Uganda Premier League who will also start getting direct funding from FUFA. Magogo, who is also MP for Budiope East in Buyende in Uganda’s Parliament, announced a sh50m package for the men’s top tier sides.

In the same vein, the 10 women clubs playing in the top tier will each get sh30m while big league clubs will bag sh25m each.

Magogo said the 16 provinces (that play in the FUFA Drum competition) will be given sh10. He however added that they expected the number of provinces raised by two for the number to go up to 18 although he did name the new additions.
