President Kenyatta arrives in Seychelles for State Visit

His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta is received at Seychelles International Airport on Mahe Island by his Sychellois host Wavel Ramkalawan at the start of the Kenyan leader’s 3-day State Visit to the Indian Ocean Island nation.

Seychelles, 17th July 2022 (PSCU) —President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived in Seychelles this evening for a three day State Visit.

 

His Excellency was received at the Seychelles International Airport by his host President Wavel Ramkalawan.

President Kenyatta, who is leading a Kenyan Government delegation on the visit, was accorded an elaborate state reception that included a Guard of Honour mounted by the country’s military and Seychelles People’s Defence Force.

During his visit, the President, will hold bilateral talks and witness the signing of agreements geared towards enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

President Kenyatta is also scheduled to address an extra-ordinary session of the Seychelles National Assembly.

Kenya and Seychelles already cooperate in many areas including trade, maritime security, blue economy, parliamentary exchanges, commerce, youth development, sports, culture and fisheries among others.

The President is accompanied by Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs Amb. Raychelle Omamo, Deputy Chief of Staff, Ruth Kagia among other senior government officials.
