NEWS- The Rukiga District Woman Member of Parliament Hon Kamusiime Caroline Muhwezi was over the weekend elected the 1st Vice President women caucus bureau at Pan African Parliament.

This was after her approval as the chairperson Women caucus representing Eastern Region, a position she received on Friday 1st June 2022.
The elections were being held in South Africa at the offices of the Pan African Parliament.
Hon. Caroline Kamusiime from Uganda will be deputizing Hon. Amina Tidjani Yaya from Chad who emerged the Women Caucus Chairperson of the women caucus bureau at Pan African Parliament.
In her speech after the election, Hon. Caroline Kamusiime who is now the 1st vice president Women caucus bureau of Pan African Parliament, thanked the Members of the Pan African Parliament for trusting her with such positions and pledged to work towards developing rights of the woman at all levels.
Others include Hon. Victoria Kingston 2nd Vice-Chairperson from Malawi, 3rd Vice Chairperson Hon. Sen. Dr Ranada Mohamed Ahmed Mostafa, with Hon. Traore Mariame of Cote d’Ivoire emerged as the 4th Vice-Chairperson.
While the Youth Caucus saw Hon. Dali Laila from Morocco emerging the Chairperson, deputized by Hon. Tatenda Annastacia Mavetera from Zimbabwe with Hon. Euclides Jorge Valela da Silva from Cape Verde elected the 2nd Vice-Chairperson. Completing the list is the 3rd Vice-Chairperson, Hon. Eric Ngalula Ilunga from DRC and 4th Vice-Chairperson Hon. Wavel Woodcock from Seychelles.
The main goal in establishing the Pan-African Parliament was to create a space where people from all states of Africa can meet, deliberate, and pass some policy on issues that affect the entire continent.
