With Celtic riding high at the top of the Scottish Premiership and with another Old Firm derby win under their belt, their Australian coach Ange Postecoglou is getting plenty of praise.
Fans weren’t too thrilled when the former Socceroos boss was appointed last year with current Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe the club’s first choice.
Howe, who was without a job at the time, turned down the Hoops which opened the door for Postecoglou to make his mark in Scotland.
While Howe has no regrets over his decision, he is impressed with the work Postecoglou is doing with Celtic.
“I think he’s done an incredible job,” Howe was quoted by Newcastle World on Thursday.
“I did actually watch the Old Firm game on Sunday. It was a very interesting game, the atmosphere is always electric and are very interesting games to watch from a coach’s point of view.
“Full credit to him, his staff and players for what he’s done this season because it was a team in slight transition and I think he’s been excellent in recruitment.”

Postecoglou has more importantly won over his own players this season with goalkeeper Joe Hart recapturing some of his best form with the Hoops.
Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards talked to Hart after Celtic’s recent 2-1 win over Rangers and revealed just how highly he rates Postecoglou.
“I rang him (Hart) after the game to congratulate him,” Richards said on the BBC Radio Five Live Football Daily Podcast earlier this week.
“I watched the game, and he just said that the manager is inspirational, he’s one of the best managers he’s played under.
“People will say ‘Of course he’ll say that because he’s playing him’, but they had a conversation when they first signed and Hart said to him that all he needs is a little bit of love, and you can see that in his performances.
“He says his training has been excellent and they’re always wanting to play out from the back.”
Celtic next face St. Johnstone in the league on Sunday (AEST) before facing Rangers again a week later in the Scottish Cup semi-finals.
