NRM’s MP David Kabanda not happy with NUP President Bobi Wine for humiliating the Deputy SpeakerThomas Tayebwa.

MP David Kabanda.

Its very unfortunate that the NUP President wants to divide Parliament. MPs of the 11th Parliament decided they would work together as colleagues in good and bad times irrespective of our political inclinations. However the growing habit of NUP party leaders attacking government officials during functions organised by NUP MPs is appalling.

It is my appeal to LoP Hon Mpuuga and Chief Opposition Whip Hon Nambeshe to call out their Party President over his insensitive remarks against the Deputy Speaker at the burial of Nambeshe’s father.

Protocol was broken in order to humiliate the Deputy Speaker, as the most senior ranking person at the burial, Rt Hon Tayebwa was supposed to address mourners after all politicians present. But they let Kyagulanyi address after Tayebwa simply to have the speaker humiliated.

If such acts keep going on, we shall stop standing with you, actually very few NUP Mps stand with NRM Mps during fundraisings or grief.

I would like to particularly thank members who stood up and openly rejected Kyagulanyi’s direct attacks on the Deputy Speaker.
