Nuba is impressed with the She Cranes’ performance and believes they will win the trophy after correcting a few of their mistakes.
Uganda’s netball team, the She Cranes, has beaten Northern Ireland 72-46 at the ongoing Netball Celtic Cup in Scotland.
This is their second win after thumping Zimbabwe 65-38 in their opening game of the tournament yesterday.
Now Uganda leads the six-team log with four points and is looking forward to playing against hosts Scotland tomorrow in the round robin format tournament.
With team captain Rachael Nanyonga yet to join colleagues due to visa issues, shooting ace Mary Nuba, who plies her trade with Queensland Firebirds in Australia, has stepped in as captain.
Nuba is impressed with the She Cranes’ performance and believes they will win the trophy after correcting a few of their mistakes.
“I think we are improving, which is really great. We just need to obviously fix a few things in each area, like defense and attack. The game plan is to start strong and finish strong, I think we still have to do a lot of work in midcourt,” Nuba said.
The She Cranes will play against Scotland tomorrow before facing Zimbabwe on Saturday and finally face defending champions Wales on Sunday.
