President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has paid glowing tribute to the late Hajjat Azida Nanteza, describing the Basajjabalaba family matriarch as a pillar who dedicated her life to raising her children in an upright and exemplary manner.

He called on the family to honour her memory by continuing her good works.

In his eulogy, Tayebwa noted that for many people in greater Bushenyi, Hajjat Azida may not have been known personally, but her legacy is widely felt through her children.  

He particularly highlighted the contribution of Al Hajji Hassan Basajjabalaba, Chairman of the NRM Entrepreneurs League, and the entire Basajjabalaba family to the development of the region and Uganda at large.

“Through investments in education, health and other social services, such as schools, universities and hospitals, the family has significantly boosted the economy of greater Bushenyi and provided essential services to thousands of Ugandans”. He said.

He concluded by praying that the soul of Hajjat Azida Nanteza rests in eternal peace and that her family finds strength and comfort in the enduring impact of her life.
