Uganda has assured member states within the East African Community that none of them will take advantage of the busy electoral campaigning season to dethrone her as the defending champions of the Inter-Parliamentary East African games.
While applauding Uganda for hosting the 15th Edition of the EAC Inter-parliamentary Games, on a light note, Kenya’s representative Vincent Kawaga said that this time round, they are determined to defeat Uganda due to the campaigning season that has not allowed the Ugandans MP to train for the tournament.
However, Bugiri municipality MP Asuman Basalirwa, the chairperson of the organizing committee of the East African games advised the community members not to dare imagine of challenging any Ugandan team in any sports discipline especially on the home ground.
Uganda is the current overall defending champion of the East African Parliamentary sports for many years.

This as the joint planning committee of the 15th Edition of the Inter-parliamentary East African Games concluded all activities for the hosting the games scheduled for December.
The committee has inspected and approved several playing, training facilities and medical facilities and hotels to accommodate over 1000 participants.
The games are scheduled from 5th-17th December 2025 under the theme “One Region One Community, Advancing Integration Through Parliamentary Sport”.
The Tournament will feature games like football, netball, Volleyball, Basketball, athletes, Golf and Darts for Persons With Disabilities.

Meanwhile the Uganda Athletic world gold medalist Moses Kipsiro called on the organizers of the Inter-Parliamentary Games to consider bringing on board sports legends from the different partner states to participate in order to add value to the integration efforts of the community.
The Ugandans MPs, EALA legislators joined by their counterparts from other parliaments rallied the public to turn up in big numbered to cheer and support their respectful countries since access to the games is free of charge.
The lawmakers from the region believe this approach will ensure creation of public awareness about the East African Community integration.
