Kabaka Ronald Mutebi returns from the United Kingdom after a week of official engagements, expressing excitement at presiding over the final match of the Masaza Cup at Nakivubo Stadium

Kabaka Ronald Mutebi has returned from the United Kingdom after a week of official engagements, expressing excitement at presiding over the final match of the Masaza Cup between Buweekula and Ssingo at Nakivubo Stadium.

The Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, confirmed the Kabaka’s return and called on all Baganda to welcome him warmly and attend the highly anticipated final.

The Masaza Cup, one of the Kabaka’s initiatives, aims to unite the people of Buganda through sports.

“Participation in the Masaza Cup tournament is open to everyone, even those who are not ethnically Baganda,” the Katikkiro said.

Mayiga said the tournament promotes Buganda’s fifth major pillar — unity — fostering peace and cooperation within the kingdom.

“To everyone who has followed the Masaza Cup since 2014, we can all agree that a spirit of unity and togetherness has continued to grow,” he said.
