MPs under the Parliamentary Forum for Persons with Disability have joined the National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda to ask government to reduce taxes on the importation and production of equipment and materials used in rehabilitation and the manufacture of assistive devices for persons with disabilities.
This is after NUDIPU presented a petition to the members of parliament on the status of orthopedic workshops in the country in a meeting held at parliament.

David Nangosi the programme officer at NUDIPUD, told members of parliament that 50% of the health facilities have no facilities used to work on disabled persons and many persons with disabilities are still finding hard to get assistive devices.
