UNGU-XI Commander Rallies Officers to Lead With Respect, Remain Vigilant Against Al-Shabaab Threat.

 

He called on all leaders to promote engagement that is both meaningful and respectful, stressing that leadership grounded in discipline and positive work culture would enhance both operational efficiency and morale.

Lt Col Barigye also warned against underestimating the enduring threat posed by the extremist group Al-Shabaab. Despite the current lull in enemy activity around Mogadishu, he cautioned that the danger remains.

“We must remain vigilant and adaptable. The calm should not mislead us into complacency,” he said.

He went on to commend the officers for their continued efforts in maintaining administrative cohesion and aligning troops with the mission’s strategic objectives.

The commander further urged sustained preparedness and discipline in order to effectively counter any emerging threats.

The briefing was attended by officers and department heads serving under the UNGU-XI in Somalia.
