Buganda Land Board, FLY6 Technologies renew LE-Card Partnership to bolster land security.
Kampala, Uganda: The Buganda Land Board (BLB) has renewed its partnership with FLY6 Technologies, reaffirming its commitment to securing land ownership through the continued rollout of the LE-Card system, a technological solution designed to fight land fraud on Kabaka’s land.
The renewal was sealed through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Omuk. Simon Kabogoza, Chief Executive Officer of BLB, and Mr. Prakash Ivaturi, Chief Executive Officer of FLY6 Technologies, at the BLB headquarters in Kampala.
The LE-Card, which was first introduced in 2015, was developed jointly by BLB and FLY6 Technologies to help safeguard land documents for all individuals under Kabaka’s land tenure system. The card uses palm-vein technology, which both parties say is globally proven to effectively combat land fraud and impersonation.
Speaking at the event, Omuk. Simon Kabogoza welcomed the partnership renewal and expressed the importance of the LE-Card in transforming land management in Buganda, saying, “The LE-Card is not just a card — it is security, it is protection, and it is trust. Our partnership with FLY6 continues to guarantee this.”
FLY6 CEO Prakash Ivaturi expressed satisfaction at the renewed collaboration, reaffirming the company’s commitment to technological excellence. “Our continued collaboration with Buganda Land Board is a testament to the success of this innovation. The palm-vein technology behind the LE-Card remains among the most secure in verifying ownership and ensuring transaction integrity,” Ivaturi said.
Requirements for LE-Card Registration:
- An authentic BLB land ownership documents and file number
- A valid National ID, Passport, or Driving Permit
- Proof of payment of UGX 100,000 via mobile money for individuals
- Companies pay UGX 200,000 for issuance (one card covers multiple properties)

Among the benefits of owning the LE-card is that it provides real-time data access for tenants, reduces the burden of carrying physical land documents, and simplifies and accelerates transactions, which can be done anytime. The card is also a strong safeguard against fraud and impersonation.
The LE-Card remains a critical tool in BLB’s broader strategy to safeguard landowner interests through innovation. It ensures that no land transaction proceeds without explicit authorization from BLB and consent from the registered landowner.
