As the country still comes to terms with the brutal murder of David Mutaaga and his wife Deborah Mutaaga at their home on Sunday, friends and family on Saturday quietly descended on Nakasozi Village, Buddo Parish in Wakiso district to send off their loved ones.
However the two children of the deceased couple Isabel Najitta Mutaaga and Mark Ernest Kabenge Mutaaga have skipped the burial of their parents and opted to stay abroad citing security concerns for their lives.
According to a source close to the family, the children who allegedly suspect a relative to be behind their murder didn’t feel safe to come back home and attend the burial, least the same happened to them.

The source intimated noted that it’s for this reason that the pair decided to stay away from the funeral and even return home.
According to the New Vision, police investigators, have zeroed in on relatives of the elderly couple, with evidence pointing to some of the relatives who allegedly hired the killer in a calculated attack motivated by a bitter fight over family property.
“A major breakthrough came from a chilling audio recording captures by the home closed circuit television system with the killer calling the victims by their names during the attack, “Deborah, do you think its only you with children? We also want to be well off. You can call whoever you want, but I have come to kill you and nothing will deter me from fulfilling my mission”.

Fresh details have emerged surrounding the brutal murder of an elderly couple in Entebbe, with investigators now zeroing in on a family feud over inherited property as the likely motive behind the gruesome double homicide.
David Mutaaga, 69, and his wife, Deborah Florence Mutaaga, 62, were found brutally stabbed to death at their home in Lugonjo, Entebbe Municipality, Wakiso District on the morning of July 7, 2025. The couple had only recently returned from Germany after over 30 years abroad and had just hosted a joyous homecoming party the night before their bodies were discovered.
Forensic investigators revealed that the killer likely gained access by scaling the perimeter fence, then breaking into the master bedroom through a shattered window. The roofing above the same window had been tampered with, pointing to a stealthy entry rather than forced access through the main door.
Entebbe, Uganda: Fresh details have emerged surrounding the brutal murder of an elderly couple in Entebbe, with investigators now zeroing in on a family feud over inherited property as the likely motive behind the gruesome double homicide.

Forensic investigators revealed that the killer likely gained access by scaling the perimeter fence, then breaking into the master bedroom through a shattered window. The roofing above the same window had been tampered with, pointing to a stealthy entry rather than forced access through the main door.
The assailant, according to preliminary findings, is believed to have exited through the front gate, which was left unlocked. Footprints and physical evidence recovered from the bedroom area and compound suggest that the attacker had intimate knowledge of the house’s layout and the couple’s routines.
Police have since retrieved CCTV surveillance footage from the home and are currently analyzing it alongside forensic evidence, including latent fingerprints.
Initial assessments suggest that the motive may not have been robbery, as no significant valuables were stolen, further reinforcing suspicions that the killings may have stemmed from a bitter dispute over family property.
