President Museveni’s Visit to Kasokoso: Commitment to Resolve Land and PDM Challenges

By Naomi Namusoke/KMA Updates
During his recent visit to Kasokoso in Kira Municipality, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni engaged directly with residents and listened attentively to the pressing issues affecting their daily lives. Chief among the concerns raised by the community were matters related to the Parish Development Model (PDM)—particularly the insufficient funding and alleged misuse of the allocated resources—as well as long-standing land disputes that have left many residents in fear and uncertainty. In response, the President assured the people of Kasokoso that the government will thoroughly investigate the land issues in the area. He emphasized that any resolution must be inclusive, involving all affected stakeholders, and will aim to deliver a fair and just outcome that respects the rights and livelihoods of the community members.

Commenting on the leadership challenges in Kira, the President expressed disappointment over what he termed as a form of “political suicide” committed by the electorate. He noted that by voting for leaders who have failed to prioritize and address the critical needs of their constituents, such as land security and proper implementation of poverty alleviation programs like the PDM, the people of Kira have essentially compromised their own well-being.

President Museveni reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the government steps in where necessary to protect the interests of ordinary Ugandans and to correct the failures caused by poor leadership and mismanagement at the local level.
