Produced annually by the African Development Bank, the Country Focus Reports (CFRs) derived from the African Economic Outlook (AEO), provide in-depth economic analysis for each of Africa’s 54 countries.

The CFRs aim to contextualize the AEO’s key messages at the national level, while integrating local priorities, specific challenges, and country-specific policy perspectives. In 2025, in a context marked by post-crisis resilience, climate urgency, and structural transformation, the launch of the CFRs represents a strategic step to strengthen the Bank’s influence, engage national decision-makers, and increase the visibility of its knowledge products.

The objective of these launches is to share the key messages and findings of the reports at the country level to enhance the visibility and usefulness of these knowledge products, while stimulating strategic dialogue on their use to inform national decision-making.

The institutional launch of the series of 54 CFRs will take place on Monday, 23 June 2025, at 9:15 a.m. GMT at the Novotel Hotel Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), Plateau. It will be followed by the presentation of the Côte d’Ivoire report, with a panel discussion on the theme “Making the Most of Côte d’Ivoire’s Capital for Its Development.”

Starting from 24 June 2025, coordinated national launches will be held across all African regions.

This ceremony will be chaired by Mr. Kevin Urama, Chief Economist and Vice President, African Development Bank, accompanied by experts from the Bank and the Ministry of Economy, Planning, and Development of Côte d’Ivoire.
