Barcelona aim to offload SEVEN players in bid to register Joan Garcia and Nico Williams
Garcia will swap Espanyol for Barcelona, and Athletic Club star Williams seems set to join Hansi Flick’s side soon, but whether they can register the duo is up in the air. Now, Mundo Deportivo claims Barca are confident they will not need to make a big sale to achieve that goal, and Ansu Fati, Pau Victor, Pablo Torre, Inaki Pena, Oriol Romeu, Andreas Christensen, and Marc-Andre ter Stegen are up for sale.
AFPBarcelona have been in dire financial straits for years now, with the club’s debts rising into the billions. They have been hamstrung by not being able to abide by La Liga’s 1:1 rule – where a team can only spend as much as their accounts and income allow – but club president Joan Laporta has stated that will not be an issue next season and “exciting” times are ahead.
Just when it looked like academy product Fati would join Monaco, after struggling for minutes at Barca, that move looks to have broken down. Moreover, selling keeper Ter Stegen could be a difficult task as he reportedly wants to see out his 2028 contract.
Getty Images SportIt may just be a matter of time before Williams completes his big-money move to La Liga and Copa del Rey champions Barcelona but with the Catalan outfit, their financial issues never seem far away. So there may be some more twists and turns ahead.
