Assane Diao stole the spotlight with a brilliant brace as Como produced a dominant display to sweep aside Lecce 3-0 in their Serie A encounter.
The young forward opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, calmly finishing off a slick Como move to give his side a deserved lead. His goal was the reward for Como’s early control and attacking intent, and it set the tone for what would be a commanding performance.
Despite holding a slender 1-0 advantage at the break, Como came out in the second half with renewed urgency. They pushed for a second, but Lecce refused to fold easily, showing grit and determination to keep the scoreline close. For much of the second half, it looked like Lecce might frustrate the visitors — but Como’s patience was eventually rewarded.
In the 84th minute, Edoardo Goldaniga made a rare foray forward and doubled the lead, slotting home from close range to make it 2-0 and give Como breathing space.
But the night belonged to Diao.
Deep into stoppage time, he struck again — this time in the 90+4th minute — to seal his brace and put the finishing touches on a well-earned win. His second goal underlined his poacher’s instinct and capped off a performance full of energy, movement, and clinical finishing.
He sealed the night with an MVP award.
With the 3-0 result, Como not only secured all three points but also sent a strong message about their growing presence in Serie A
