By KIYINGI GODFREY KMAUpdates
The ministry of education and sports  has argued the youth to constructively use online to  build their country other than spoiling it.
In her message to the participants  in  the Uganda Communications Commission, Debate Series 2025 grand finale at Green Hill Secondary school under the motion “strict regulation on digital content modulation to curb  hate speech, the director of education standards Ministry of education and sports Frances Atima urgued students and the youth  to always desist from  misusing social media use that ends up  spoilingthem instead of  building their nation and to always think before clicking.
She thanked UCC for coming up with this arrangement saying it rhymes well with the new curriculum which encourages critical thinking amongst learners.
The ministry pledged to give the winner a fully furnished computer lab and a computer and a tab to the second winner.
Juliana Muhirwe expressed her dismay to the fact that 30% of what Ugandans post is hate speech  and that’ why they are looking for ways of reversing this.
She on behalf of UCC pledged further support to this cause.
Over 17800 students from 71 schools across the country participated in this arrangement where Glen Mugisha from Green Hill and Leila Ashaba from Nabisunsa girls school were the overall winning school being Green Hill the host of this tournament followed by Kawempe Muslim Secondary.
