Brass for Africa argues Ugandan government to extend tax exemptions to charity organizations and schools

Kampala Uganda:Brass for Africa has asked the government to extend tax exemptions to charity organisations and schools that promote the talents of children with disabilities to acquire musical instruments, thereby extending their life skills in music.
The call was made by the country manager of Brass for Africa, Ronald Kabuye, together with the teachers from disability inclusion schools in Kampala, while informing the media about their upcoming Brass for Africa inclusion gala scheduled for Friday next week at Hotel Africana.
Kabuye said that friends of children with disabilities will use this night to celebrate resilience, talent, and empowerment, where music turns awareness into impact and develops skills among youth with disabilities.
Brass for Africa empowers youth with musical talent, together with schools for children with disabilities.
He explained that donors are willing to provide equipment such as hearing aids and technology used to teach children with autism, but taxes make it difficult to clear these items when they are imported into the country.
During the event,Kabuye explainede that young people with disabilities will perform, accompanied by Brass for Africa band teachers who work with them twice a week to build life skills.
He noted that these activities will help the children learn, listen, communicate, and realise their potential beyond their disabilities.
