The DF leadership has reiterated its earlier request to its supporters to undertake a thorough scrutiny of the opposition presidential candidates and make their individual choices on whom they should vote for in the upcoming election.
In September this year, the DF National Executive Committee resolved not to front any candidate for presidency or support any candidate from among other opposition parties.
However, the Party’s NEC guided its supporters to make individual choices on whom they wish to support and vote for Presidency

The party’s President, Rt. Hon. Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba, while speaking to Masaka City traders gathered at the Kikuubo business center in Masaka City, reiterated the party’s stance of not fronting a presidential candidate.
Mpuuga noted that the DF Party, being in its infancy stage, did not have enough time and resources to front a presidential candidate, adding that party members are free to choose from amongst the available opposition presidential candidates on who’s is suitable to liberate the country.

Dr. Abed Bwanika, the Party’s National Treasurer, informed the traders that DF not fronting a presidential candidate isn’t a sign of weakness or shortage of candidates, as many allege.
He added that the party has many potential presidential personnel but the Party’s NEC resolved not to concentrate all it’s energies and limited resources on Parliamentary and local government leaders.

The three leaders—Hon. Julie Kakande, who is also aspiring to retain the city woman MP seat; Dr. Abed Bwanika, the Kimaanya Kabonera MP; and Rt. Hon. Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba, the Nyendo-Mukungwe MP—listed multiple achievements gained in the past four years of their tenure and also appealed to the city voters to retain them to accomplish the unfinished work.
These achievements includes the city stadium, Masaka recreation grounds, city roads infrastructure, schools, community wealth empowerment programs, and others.

The DF President, Rt. Hon. Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba, cautioned the electorate against the politics of personal attacks and segregation based on party colors, noting that such practices could cause serious danger to the area if not addressed.
He appealed to the voters to accord every candidate space to to speak to them and make choices based on the manifestos each candidate’s has.

Hon Juliet Kakande appealed to the city electorates to retain them,based on their capacity to service delivery and track record not political excitements ignited by political opponents.
