Shocking news reaching Kampala Journal confirms the passing of Dr. Emmanuel Iyamulemye, the former Managing Director of the Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA).
A close family member has revealed that Dr. Iyamulemye succumbed to cancer, an illness he had quietly battled for years.
Insiders say his condition deteriorated further after he lost the high-stakes fight to stop UCDA from being scrapped under the government’s agency rationalisation programme — a move that saw the Authority swallowed back into the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF). The merger, government argued, was meant to cut down wasteful expenditure and reduce the financial burden on the state.
