Kampala, Uganda: President Yoweri Museveni has appointed former Inspector General of Government (IGG) Beti Olive Namisango Kamya as his advisor on general duties, barely a month after she exited the ombudsman’s office.

Kamya served as IGG from July 15, 2021, succeeding Justice Irene Mulyagonja, who held the office from 2012 to 2019. She previously served as Minister for Kampala and Minister for Lands, Housing and Urban Development.
