The 2026 Presidential candidate for Forum for Democratic Change Nandala Mafabi says he isn’t seeking for Presidency of Uganda just to get what to eat, but rather to work for Ugandans and ensure they travel on better roads and have access to good healthcare and education.
Nandala made the remarks while addressing a gathering at Mbale Cricket Oval, in Mbale City during his homecoming ceremony.on saturday,
Mafabi has informed the mammoth crowd that welcomed him that he will use the knowledge he has acquired on fixing economies around the world to fix Uganda’s economy and ensure that Ugandans have money in their pockets.
“ I am not going to look for what to eat, I am going to work for you to ensure that you have better roads said Mafabi amid in his local.language amidst cheers from the congregation.

Nandala also defended his decision to contest for Presidency arguing that it is as a result of the NRM Government refusing to listen and adhere to the advice given by experts on how to fix the economy and reduce on poverty in Ugandans.
He says that Nations like Tanzania, India that have taken advise are doing so well, it is only our country which has refused because people are hellbent to do things in the wrong direction.
On where he will raise money that he has promised to put in the pockets of Ugandans, Nandala pointed to the study by the Inspectorate of Government that revealed that Uganda loses over Shs10Trn to corruption annually, saying his presidency will seek to block those leakages and ensure that at least Shs7Trn is saved.
Mafabi also promised to ensure that every graduate that leaves University of Higher Institution, on the day they graduate, they are handed one Million shillings as startup capital.
Nandala also bragged about his record of reviving the Bugisu Cooperative Union as a benchmark to prove he can lead Uganda.
Flora Mafabi, wife to Nandala asked Ugandans to vote her husband because she trusts that he is the only one capable of bringing change in Uganda .

The FDC president Patrick Amuriat, revealed that Nandala has kicked off his presidency by moblising 160 people who crossed from the NRM into FDC, and went on to attack Uganda Police for attempting to interfere with Nandala Homecoming event.
saying FDC’s move to seek for presidency isn’t intended to fight with security forces but rather make Uganda a better place for everyone.
“Amuriat also noted that Mafabi isn’t contesting for presidency to fight anybody but they want to make Uganda a better place for everyone. No citizen of this country should live in absolute poverty, no citizen of this country shouldn’t have health care, no good education and no citizen should not have clean water.
