Dr. Ivan Edwards, a Kampala native and United States citizen, has earned notable literary acclaim for his debut poetry anthology, Resonance of the Soul – Flowers and Harmonics, published in July 2025.

The collection explores themes of love, healing, inspiration, and resilience, organized into chapters that reflect the complexities of the human experience—Love, Culture, Food, People, Life, and Healing.
Through vivid imagery and heartfelt authenticity, the poems delve into the ecstasy and pain of love, the strength of cultural identity, the communal joy of food, and the struggles of marginalized voices. The work also touches on environmental justice and global reflection, with references to African landscapes and traditions.

Two respected editorial boards have praised the anthology.
Literary Titan awarded it five stars, calling it “a spiritual map made of pain, joy, humor, and truth… written with a clarity that cuts and a tenderness that soothes.” Readers’ Favorite gave it four stars, describing it as “compelling and emotionally moving… The work’s authenticity and emotional power are undeniable.”

Dr. Edwards serves as a U.S. Air Force Reserve Flight Surgeon with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, specializing in neurorehabilitation and comprehensive pain management. His life’s work spans medicine, military service, and ministry—each informing the depth and compassion found in his writing.
Born in Uganda, he remains deeply connected to his roots. As part of his ongoing outreach, Dr. Edwards plans to donate free copies of Resonance of the Soul – Flowers and Harmonics to aspiring secondary school students in Uganda who show interest in poetry and creative writing. The initiative aims to inspire young voices and encourage literary expression among youth navigating their own journeys of growth and resilience.
