The suspect, identified as Frank Kyalimpa, allegedly extorted money from patients while masquerading as hospital staff.
Police in Mubende district has today Wednesday, 13th August, 2025 arrested a man posing as a doctor at Mubende Regional referral hospital.
The suspect has been identified as Frank Kyalimpa who has been extorting money from patients while masquerading as a Doctor.
According to Kibaya , CCTV cameras installed in various parts of the hospital have been capturing Kyalimpa entering into different wards at night and day time wearing clinical coat and administrating medication to patients.
Following the review of the footages and complaints, staff tracked and arrested him within the hospital working on patients at the Women’s Ward.
He presented his identification as a student of Kampala University medical student doing internship at Mubende Regional referral hospital but the university denied him.
Kibaya has condemned the suspect’s action saying it is damaging the hospital’s reputation and fueling public mistrust of true medical staff.
