Breaking: Kabuleta Suspended as NEED Party President

Kabuleta Suspended as NEED Party President.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Economic Empowerment Dialogue (NEED) Party has suspended its President, Joseph Kizza Kabuleta, from his positions as National Chairperson and Party President for 90 days, effective immediately.

The decision, announced in a press release dated August 1, 2025, cites multiple breaches of party protocols and procedures.

The suspension stems from allegations including Kabuleta’s self-declaration as the party’s presidential flag bearer without NEC or Delegates Conference approval, practicing sectarianism/tribalism in party matters, and offensive remarks referring to Lubaga residents as “slum dwellers.”

Other allegations include expelling NEC members without due process, mismanaging party assets, and organizing a Delegates Conference without NEC approval.

Kabuleta is also accused of persistent absenteeism from NEC meetings, using unverified funds in party activities without transparency, and attempting to personalize the party by claiming “he is NEED Party and NEED is him.”

The NEC further noted his unauthorized efforts to terminate tenancy agreements and undermine internal democracy.During the suspension, Kabuleta is barred from transacting any party business, including holding conferences or using party assets.

The NEC has warned of further action if he contravenes these restrictions. In the interim, the Deputy National Person will act as Party President and National Chairperson.

The suspension marks a serious internal conflict within the NEED Party, raising questions about its leadership and future direction.
