Activities under the Roadmap for the 2025/2026 General Elections
The Electoral Commission wishes to remind stakeholders of the planned activities under the Roadmap for the conduct of the 2025/2026 General Elections as follows:
Nomination of Municipality/City Division SIG Committees Candidates: Older Persons; Persons with Disabilities; Youth from 24th – 25th July 2025.
Conduct of candidates’ campaign meetings (OP; PwD and Youth) from 28th – 29th July 2025.
Polling for Municipality and City Division Older Persons Committees on 30th July 2025.
Polling for Municipality and City Division PwDs Committees on 1st August 2025
Polling for Municipality and City Division Youth Committees on 4th August 2025.
Holding Sub-county Conferences to elect Non-unionised Workers Delegates to the District/City on 5th August 2025.
Holding of District Conferences to elect Non-unionised Workers Delegates to the Regions on 7th August 2025.
Nomination of District and City SIGs Committee Candidates: Older Persons; Persons with Disabilities; Youth on 11th – 12th August 2025.
Conduct of candidates’ campaign meetings (OP; PwD and Youth) on 13th – 17th August.
Polling for District and City Older Persons Committees on 15th August 2025.
Polling for District and City PwDs Committees on 18th August 2025.
Polling for District and City Youth Committees on 19th August 2025.
Holding of Regional Conferences to elect Non-unionised Workers Delegates to the National Level on 25th August 2025.
Holding of Regional Conferences to elect regional Older Persons Delegates to the National Level on 27th August 2025.
Nomination, Campaigns, and Polling for the National Youth Council Committee on 27th – 29th August 2025.
Nomination of Candidates for Local Governments, including SIGs, in line with Section 119 (1) of the Local Governments Act, Cap 138 from 3rd – 12th September 2025.
Nomination of Candidates for Parliamentary Elections in line with Section 9 of the Parliamentary Elections Act, Cap 177 from 16th – 17th September 2025.
Nomination of Candidates for Presidential Elections in line with Section 9 (1) of the Presidential Elections Act from 23rd – 24th September 2025.
Conduct of candidates’ campaigns (Presidential) in line with Section 22(1) of the Presidential Elections Act from 4th October 2025 – 12th January 2026.
Conduct of candidates’ campaigns (Parliamentary) in line with Section 21 of the Parliamentary Elections Act, Cap 177 from 23rd September 2025 – 12th January 2026.
Conduct of candidates’ campaigns (Local Governments, including SIGs) from 13th September 2025 – 12th January 2026.
Polling period for Presidential, Parliamentary, and Local Government Councils (City/District; Municipality/City Division; and Sub County, Town, Municipal Division), including SIGs Representatives, in line with Article 61(2) of the Constitution from 12th January – 9th February 2026.
