Horror in Entebbe: update on the Couple Murdered After Returning from Diaspora

Entebbe police division is actively investigating a tragic double murder and suspected aggravated robbery happened at the home of Mutaaga David located in Lugonjo Nakiwogo cell entebbe municipality in Wakiso district.

The incident left couples brutally murdered in the wee hours of Monday morning in the names of Mutaaga David aged 69 and his wife Mutaaga Deborah aged 62 Florence who was just returned from Switzerland in Europe where they have been living most of there lives.

According to Luke Owoyesigyire Kampala metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Preliminary examination revealed that both victims had sustained fatal stab wounds.

The CCTV footage shows the assailants climbing the perimeter wall up to the compound and breaking the windows into the bedrooms of the couple and killing them instantly using sharp objectives.

According to one of the neighbours’ names withheld the woman was believed to have been raped before killing her.

He further adds that the motive of the murder suspected to be pointing towards the sharing of the inherited property of his late father with the family members who have been looking after the land during there absence.

The forensic team from Naguru police headquarters joined the Entebbe police division and the scene reconstruction was done, fingerprints were lifted more materials of evidential value recovered, and will be submitted for forensic analysis.

The ICT team from the Entebbe division managed to retrieve the footage from the home CCTV pending submission for transcription and translation.

“There are traces around the master bedroom window, which was found broken, and the asbestos roofing was tampered with and the assailant, after the mission, exited through the main gate.” says the police.

Owoyesigyire further adds that statements were recorded from the maid, neighbors and the person reported the matter to the police.

” We have got the challenge as to who shall take the bodies or will be in charge of affairs because there is a struggle for property, and yet the deceased children are both still out of the country where they are citizens.” Says Luke Owoyesigyire.

The crime scene documentation and evidence collection were conducted, and the bodies were conveyed to the City Mortuary Mulago for postmortem examination to aid the ongoing inquiries.

Several exhibits of evidential value have been recovered for forensic analysis and the motive behind this heinous crime is still under investigation and will be communicated in due course.
