Kusasira vows to ‘die’ supporting Museveni and NRM.

Kampala, Uganda: Ugandan Female Musician Catherine Kusasira has declared she is ready to stand by President Yoweri Museveni and the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) for the rest of her life, insisting the President has made her dreams come true.

Kusasira, one of Uganda’s most prominent entertainers, openly allied to NRM, said nothing will sway her commitment to the party and its leader, despite occasional disagreements with party figures.

“Wherever President Museveni will be, I must be there with him,” Kusasira pledged. “He is a very good leader, and to be honest, we need to vote for him to win another term. I fully support everything he does and the people he works with to achieve it.”

She encouraged Ugandans to re-elect Museveni in the next elections, saying he still has work to do for the country.

Kusasira’s statement comes as campaigns for 2026 begin to take shape, with NRM supporters and opposition politicians already intensifying mobilization.

Although Kusasira previously announced plans to join active politics, she disclosed her education level had temporarily limited her ambitions. She revealed she will be graduating in October this year, positioning herself for further involvement in NRM activities.

“President Museveni is the real deal and Uganda should be happy to have a leader like him,” Kusasira added.

The singer has often faced criticism from sections of the public over her political leanings, but she has consistently maintained that her support is based on gratitude for opportunities she says she would never have accessed without NRM.
