CDF Muhoozi Orders Arrests At Mbuya Military Intelligence Headquarters
Kampala, Uganda | Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has ordered the arrest of several senior officers at the Defence Intelligence headquarters in Mbuya, in what sources describe as a major internal crackdown on suspected subversion within military ranks.
Highly placed sources told this publication that Gen. Muhoozi instructed the Director of Defence Intelligence, Maj Gen Richard Otto, to detain the officers pending investigations.
The identities and exact number of the detained officers remain undisclosed, but officials say the arrests followed a classified internal report implicating some personnel in activities deemed subversive to military discipline and national security.
“This is a serious operation. The CDF personally ordered Maj Gen Otto to take action,” one senior security source confirmed.
“More arrests are likely as investigations widen.”
It remains unclear what specific acts the officers are accused of, though insiders suggest the probe may involve alleged leaks of classified information, unauthorized dealings, or coordinated insubordination.
This is not the first time Gen. Muhoozi has taken decisive action against suspected rogue elements within the army. In recent months, he has ordered the arrest of officers accused of corruption, abuse of office, and sabotage of key national programs, reinforcing his reputation as a disciplinarian keen on restoring integrity within the ranks.
The Defence Intelligence headquarters in Mbuya is a highly sensitive installation responsible for military intelligence gathering, surveillance, and strategic assessments crucial to national defence.
