Revealed: Why Man Utd have no concerns over Bryan Mbeumo transfer despite Tottenham’s £70m attempt to hijack deal for Brentford star

United have been linked with a move for Brentford star Mbeumo since last month as the Red Devils look to further bolster their attack in the summer transfer window after securing a move for Wolves forward Matheus Cunha. The Red Devils have already seen their initial £45million, with £10m in add-ons, rejected by the Bees, but the club remain confident that the £60m ($81m) rated forward will head to Old Trafford ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Following Thomas Frank’s move to Tottenham, Sky Sports reported that the North London side could now attempt to hijack United’s deal for the Bees star after they reportedly held talks with the Bees. However, multiple reports have claimed that the Red Devils remain confident of landing the player as the Cameroon international reportedly only wants a move to Manchester.

Andre Onana is also reportedly working behind the scenes to convince his compatriot to secure a transfer to United, according to the Manchester Evening News. The report adds that the Red Devils “have a long history” of using national team camps to try and sway potential new signings.

Ruben Amorim’s side are currently on vacation after a hectic season and then a post-season tour to Malaysia and Hong Kong. The squad will reassemble in late July before heading back to Asia for the first part of their pre-season schedule.
