IDF ‘wipes out’ Iran’s nuclear sites in huge blow to Tehran.
Israel and Iran continue to attack each other as death tolls mount with little sign of the conflict de-escalating.
Israel’s IDF has targeted critical oil, nuclear and gas facilities in Iran as the two countries continue to launch blistering attacks at each other for a third day.
Several children have been killed in Iran’s latest missile strikes on Israel. A girl, eight, and a boy 10, were found dead this morning in Bat Yam. Emergency services are currently looking for survivors.
Tehran launched a second round of missiles against Israel late on Saturday as the Israeli military kept up attacks on the Islamic Republic after previous strikes which hit nuclear and military sites.
Israel said hundreds of airstrikes over the past two days killed nine senior scientists and experts involved in Iran’s nuclear program, in addition to several top generals. Iran’s UN ambassador said 78 people were killed and more than 320 wounded.
The US and Iran had been scheduled to hold a sixth round of indirect talks over Iran’s nuclear program on Sunday (June 15) in Oman, but the Omani foreign minister said the meeting was cancelled after Israel‘s strikes on Iran.
Four loud explosions shook the Iranian capital just before 3.30pm local time (12pm BST).
It isn’t immediately clear what has been targeted.
