ISRAELI STRIKE KILLS 2 RED CRESCENT WORKERS NEAR URMIA MILITARY BASE.
Israeli forces killed two Red Crescent workers whose ambulances were heading to the Al-Mahdi military base in northwestern Urmia after explosions were reported there, Tasnim news agency said.
“Eyewitnesses reported severe blasts that caused extensive damage near the base,” Tasnim reported.
The Red Crescent said rescue forces and ambulances “came under direct Israeli attack.”
The strike adds to Israeli attacks across Iran that have killed at least 30 military personnel in East Azerbaijan province.
Israeli forces struck the South Pars gas field on Saturday and continued hitting Iranian cities.
Iran moved museum artifacts to secure storage as strikes intensified.
The attack follows Friday’s killing of one Red Crescent member in East Azerbaijan.
