The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) summos the National Coordinator of the Parish Development Model (PDM) over the diversion of Shs 5.6 billion.

Kampala-Uganda-The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has summoned the National Coordinator of the Parish Development Model (PDM), Dennis Ggalabuzi, to appear next week on Tuesday at 9:00 AM following concerns over the diversion of Shs 5.6 billion.

According to the Auditor General’s report for the financial year ending 2024, Shs 5.7 billion out of the Shs 12 billion released for planned PDM activities was spent without justification or accountability.

While appearing before PAC, which is chaired by Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government, Ben Kumumanya, failed to provide a satisfactory explanation appealing to the committee to summon the responsible officer overseeing PDM to provide accountability.

The report further revealed that several planned activities including PDM monitoring meetings across sub-regions, media campaigns, and the procurement of office assets for the PDM Secretariat were either partially implemented or not executed at all.
