Uganda: Vipers, BUL perfect second round on the line at Villa,Mbarara

Vipers and BUL’s perfect second round so far will be tested to the limit when they travel to SC Villa and Mbarara City respectively.

First, the Venoms who take on the champions are top with 49 points but will be desperate to recreate their five points gap after NEC won against Express on Thursday to trim the gap to just two points.

Vipers will hope to continue their form but will attempt to do so without workaholic midfielder Karim Watambala who is suspended after accumulation of bookings.

That leaves the task to Allan Okello, Yunus Sentamu and company to unlock the Villa backline and usually resilient midfield commanded by Ronald Ssekiganda with Patrick Kakande and Charles Lwanga in attack.

Villa lie 9th on the log with 27 points and failure to pick a point/s off the Venoms will mean a second successive loss at home for Morley Byekwaso. At Kakyeeka, BUL who have also won all their matches in the second round take on Mbarara City who are not safe yet.

Livingstone Mbabazi’s men will hope to build on the draw at Kitara to stop rampant BUL who are third on the table with 35 points. The Ankole Lions are just on tip of safety with 22 points, eight off the relegation zone.

Elsewhere, URA will host bottom of the table Mbale Heroes under the floodlights at Nakivubo stadium. The tax collectors will want to make amends after being eliminated from the Stanbic Uganda Cup on the same turf by lowly Kataka.
