Industry stakeholders have welcomed the news, highlighting the benefits of improved connectivity between Uganda and the UK. “This is a game-changer for tourism and trade. Direct flights will make travel more convenient for both business and leisure travelers,” said a spokesperson from Uganda’s Tourism Board.
The new route also strengthens Uganda Airlines’ international expansion strategy, following recent efforts to increase its global presence. The airline has been growing its fleet and expanding destinations since its revival in 2019.
The launch follows years of planning, overcoming challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, which delayed initial plans for UK operations
