On the evening of March 17, 2025, in Masajja A cell, located in the Makindye Ssabagabo Municipality of Wakiso District, Ssengooba Charles, a 41-year-old businessman, was murdered as he was returning home from his beer depot in Masajja A zone.
Charles was attacked by unknown assailants, who hit him on the head, causing serious injuries. They also stole an unspecified amount of money and a smartphone worth 500,000 shillings. The attack took place in a dark spot just 100 meters from his home.
Good Samaritans took Charles to Nsambya Hospital, but he later died from his injuries. The police have started an investigation.
SSP Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, confirmed that efforts are underway to uncover more details about the incident.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of community awareness and safety. The police are advising residents to be cautious, especially at night, and are increasing patrols in the area to prevent similar incidents.
