Manchester United have a rich history when it comes to bringing through academy players and there could be more to come under Ruben Amorim.
Manchester United have gone into the international break off the back of a superb result.
Ruben Amorim’s United beat Leicester City 3-0 on Sunday with Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes on the scoresheet.
We also saw young players emerge for United once again.
Ayden Heaven impressed Wayne Rooney before picking up an unfortunate injury whilst Harry Amass made his Premier League debut.
Amorim admitted loving giving chances to young players and there will hopefully be many more to come.
Manchester United staff excited about Jayden Ngwashi
Making the step up from the United academy to the first team is not easy and many end up having to leave the club in search of first-team chances.
Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo have flown the flag for the United academy though, establishing themselves as first-team stars over the years.
The Daily Mail now report that United staff are excited about teenage defender Jayden Ngwashi.
It’s noted that Ngwashi only made his league debut for United’s Under-18’s a few weeks ago, but found himself coming off the bench in Premier League 2 on Friday.
United beat West Bromwich Albion 5-1 at Leigh Sports Village with Ngwashi handed a brief cameo by boss Travis Binnion.
The report states that United staff are ‘big admirers’ of Ngwashi with the 16-year-old sparking excitement about his future.
Ngwashi has represented both England and Italy at youth level with the nations hoping to secure his future for the long-term.
Ngwashi will hope to establish himself in the Under-18’s and then Premier League 2, but the nature of his progress in 2025 may mean that he moves forward rapidly.
Other Manchester United talents catching the eye
Ngwashi is just one of a number of United talents seemingly turning heads at the club.
Reports suggest that United coaches are backing Jaydan Kamason to catch Amorim’s eye and feature in the first team.
United staff also love James Scanlon and believe that the Gibraltar international should be around Amorim’s first team more.
We would love to see all of these talents emerge in the coming years with United’s history of promoting young talents hopefully continuing under Amorim.
