A woman caught in bed with another man turned her fury on the husband instead, stabbing him to death
Police in Luweero District are investigating a case of murder by stabbing that took place on Wednesday night at Namawojja village, Nambi Parish, Zirobwe Town Council.
The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Godfrey Kamoga, a peasant and resident of the area.
According to local leaders and police reports, Kamoga was fatally stabbed by his wife, Shakira Mbabazi, after he caught her in bed with his close friend.
Pascal Imarachi, the Mayor of Zirobwe Town Council, revealed that residents had previously warned Kamoga about the alleged affair between his wife and his friend they have been giving a shelter for months now but he dismissed the claims.
“People in the village had been telling him that his friend was having an inappropriate relationship with his wife, but he refused to believe it,”Imarachi said.
“Unfortunately, when he caught them red-handed in his own home, his wife turned on him and stabbed him to death in their sitting room.”
According to ASP Sam Twiinaemazima, the PRO of Savannah Region Police, authorities responded swiftly after receiving a report about the incident.
“Upon getting information from the reporter, our officers rushed to the scene.
A case of murder by stabbing was registered and the suspect was arrested for further investigations, however the deceased’s friend is still on the run,” ASP Twiinaemazima confirmed.
The deceased’s body has been taken to Luweero Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination as investigations continue.
