UN condemns Taliban’s ban on women attending private medical institutions
The UN human rights office, OHCHR, has condemned a new ban imposed by the Taliban in Afghanistan preventing women and girls from attending private medical institutions.
In a statement, OHCHR Spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani, warned that it would have devastating consequences for healthcare profession.
She said that the ban would further erode women’s precarious access to healthcare.
