Trump vs. Harris: Latest polls show this candidate surging ahead of Election Day

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Former President Donald Trump is gaining momentum in various national polls with less than two weeks left before Americans cast their ballots.

In recent months, most national polls have showed Vice President Kamala Harris either in the lead or tied with Trump in the race for the White House.

Here’s a look at how both candidates performed in some of the most recent national polls.

FORBES/HARRISX
A Forbes/Harris X poll, which includes responses from 1,244 likely voters between Oct. 20 and Oct. 21, shows Trump leading Harris by two percentage points, with 51% supporting Trump and 49% supporting Harris.

The results represent a significant, six-point shift in recent weeks, with Harris having led last month’s Forbes/HarrisX poll by four points.

Despite being less than two weeks from the election, many voters are still undecided on how they will ultimately cast their ballots, with 12% of likely voters and 18% of registered voters saying they are still weighing their options between the two candidates.

“On one side VP Harris is leading the expected early vote by double digits, and winning ballots cast to date by a ratio of almost two to one. On the other side, former President Trump has closed the polling gap nationally to a tie to a slight advantage, showing a swing in polling and momentum to his advantage,” said HarrisX founder and CEO Dritan Nesho.

WALL STREET JOURNAL

Wall Street Journal poll, which includes responses from 1,500 registered voters between Oct. 19 and Oct. 22, shows Trump leading by three percentage points, with 49% supporting Trump, 46% supporting Harris and the remaining respondents either undecided or planning to vote for a third-party candidate.

The previous Wall Street Journal poll, which was conducted in August, showed Harris leading by one point, 48% to 47%, indicating that momentum may have swung in Trump’s favor in recent weeks.
Respondents believed Trump was better equipped to handle issues like crime, immigration and the economy, while they favored Harris in terms of abortion access and Social Security and Medicare.

RASMUSSEN REPORTS

A Rasmussen Reports poll, which includes responses from 3,403 likely voters between Oct. 20 and Oct. 23, showed Trump leading by two points, with 49% supporting Trump, 47% supporting Harris and the remaining 4% either undecided or planning to vote for a third-party candidate.

Again, the results indicate a recent surge for Trump after last week’s Rasmussen Reports poll showed the candidates tied at 48% each.
