Hezbollah targets Israeli naval base in Haifa
ALBAWABA – Following a night of heavy Israeli attacks on Beirut, Hezbollah announced targeting “Stella Maris” naval base northwest of the city of Haifa.
The Lebanese group took to Telegram to post a picture with a caption claiming an attack on Caesarea, near the Israeli Prime Minister’s residence. Hezbollah claimed to have launched a “missile salvo” at the Glilot military facility in Tel Aviv, as well as a second strike on a Tel Aviv suburb.
Israeli officials declared a state of emergency in Tel Aviv, although no injuries were recorded.
Hezbollah issued a statement claiming that “a salvo of rockets was fired against the Glilot base of the 8200 military intelligence unit,” following similar strikes in the same area on Monday night. Also on Tuesday, the group claimed to have fired rockets at another site in Tel Aviv’s outskirts.
“According to the estimates we have, there is at least half a billion dollars in dollar bills and gold stored in this bunker,” Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari said.
A hospital director in Lebanon has refuted the Israeli army’s claims that Hezbollah is concealing money and gold under the facility.
Fadi Alameh, a member of parliament and director of Sahel General facility, denied there are tunnels beneath the facility and stated that the medical center south of Beirut is now being evacuated.
