Russia attacks with ballistic missiles and drones: Ukraine’s air defense downs 21 of 22 UAVs

The Russian forces attacked Ukraine with ballistic missiles and strike UAVs – air defense managed to down 21 of 22 drones, the Air Force reported on Telegram on Oct. 9.

The enemy attacked Poltava Oblast with three Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles launched from Kursk Oblast. 22 UAVs were launched from Primorsko-Akhtarsk and the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Drones were shot down overnight in Odesa, Vinnytsia, and Kyiv Oblasts. One more drone “returned” to Russia.

Poltava and Kremenchuk residents heard the sounds of three explosions overnight on Oct. 8 following the Air Force warning of a ballistic missile attack.
