India’s top stock exchanges, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), will be shutting shop on Wednesday, October 2 on the account of Gandhi Jayanti.According to the BSE holiday calendar, there will be no trading on October 2 in the equity, equity derivatives, and SLB segments.So, you won’t be able to buy or sell stocks or other securities.
Other upcoming holidays on the BSE calendar
The next holiday for the stock market will be on November 1, when it will remain closed on account of Diwali.However, there will be a special muhurat trading session on Diwali. Its timings are yet to be announced.Then, it will also be closed on November 15 and December 25 for Guru Nanak Jayanti and Christmas, respectively
MCX will also remain closed
The same goes for the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), which will remain closed for both sessions on October 2. Likewise, both session will be off on other holidays including Diwali, Guru Nanak Jayanti, and Christmas.
