Russian forces launched three Kh-59/69 missiles and 52 Shahed drones overnight on Sept. 18, with Ukrainian air defense destroying 46 Shaheds, Ukraine’s Air Force reported on Telegram.
Russian Kh-59/69 missiles were launched from occupied Kherson, while Shahed drones were fired from Russia’s Kursk and Yeysk oblasts, Ukraine’s Air Force reported.
Due to electronic warfare measures, five UAVs lost their course, and one returned to Russia.
The air-launched missiles did not reach their targets, causing damage only to agricultural machinery, with no reported casualties.
Ukrainian air defense, aviation, and mobile fire units responded in Mykolaiv, Kherson, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Sumy, and Poltava oblasts.
Explosions were reported near Kropyvnytskyi, Sumy, Dnipro suburbs, and Kyiv.
Will you help tell Ukraine’s story to the world?
Twenty years ago, most people hadn’t even heard of Ukraine. Today, the country is on everyone’s lips and everyone’s headlines. War pushed us on the front page. But there are many other things we do that we are proud of – from music and culture to technology.
We need your help to tell the world Ukrainian story of resilience, joy, and survival. If you’re willing to back our effort, consider supporting us on Patreon starting from 5$ per month. We are immensely grateful.
