Boeing has officially offered its CH-47 Chinook heavy-lift helicopter to Poland.

The announcement was made during the MSPO International Defence Industry Exhibition, where Boeing is showcasing its advanced defense systems and services.

“The Chinook has been a key part of the European defense and humanitarian relief missions for more than five decades and would enhance Poland’s cooperation with allied forces, and support the country’s defense needs,” said Tim Flood, Senior Director of International Business Development for Europe and the Americas. The offer also promises to bring economic benefits to Poland, including job creation and increased autonomy for the nation’s defense industry.

Boeing is offering the latest CH-47F Block II version of the Chinook, which features modernized enhancements such as improved lift capacity, extended range, and greater operational flexibility. The Block II variant builds on the Chinook’s proven capabilities, providing increased survivability and a foundation for future upgrades.

Adam Hodges, Boeing’s Business Development lead for Vertical Lift Programs, highlighted the advantages of operating the Chinook alongside Poland’s newly acquired Apache helicopters: “Operating the Chinook in tandem with the newly acquired Apaches will serve as a force multiplier for the Polish Armed Forces due to their complementary capabilities. The combination of the Apache and Chinook helicopters provides greater operational effectiveness and the ability to conduct a wider range of missions.”

With over 950 Chinooks in operation across 20 countries, including nine NATO members, the helicopter has a long history of successful deployments in both military and humanitarian operations. Most recently, Germany became the 21st customer for the aircraft, further solidifying the Chinook’s reputation as a reliable and versatile platform for heavy-lift missions.
