According to the police statement, five Al-Shabaab suicide bombers are believed to have already entered Uganda, with intentions of executing these attacks.

Security agencies have been instructed to share this critical information with relevant authorities and management of the targeted installations, including KIU, to ensure that they heighten their security measures.

KIU has been advised by the police to immediately institute target-hardening measures, which include increasing vigilance and securing all access points to the campus.

The police have also urged the public, including the university community, to remain cautious and report any suspicious activities as the situation is being closely monitored.

KIU management is expected to cooperate fully with the security directives to protect students, staff, and visitors during this period of heightened threat.
