Mundo Deportivo has reported that Barcelona has pulled out of the competition to bring Joao Cancelo to Manchester City. Barca purportedly desired a reduction in City’s £21 million asking fee for the out-of-favor Portuguese player, who was on loan in Catalonia for the previous campaign.
The Premier League champions, however, remained unwavering in the face of Al-Hilal’s competitive interest. Cancelo is still being pursued by the Saudi Pro League, which may close a deal for the 30-year-old before the summer transfer window.
