After weeks of fighting for his life, beloved Ugandan media personality, Joseph Tamale Mirundi, has passed away. The news of his death was confirmed by close friends which has left many truly heartbroken.
Tamale Mirundi, known for his sharp political insights and distinctive commentary, had been battling health issues for some time.
He was admitted to Kisubi Hospital in July and placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Despite initial signs of hope, the situation took a turn for the worse.
Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs, Balaam Barugahara, who had been a supporter and friend, shared a hopeful update after a hospital visit. On July 25, he took to social media to praise the efforts of the medical team, saying, “I am pleased to report that Mzee Tamale Mirundi is making significant progress! The exceptional care from Kisubi Hospital’s doctors and staff has been instrumental. My heartfelt thanks to them and to Mirundi’s dedicated family for their unyielding support.”
Just two days prior, on July 23, Mirundi Junior had shared a more somber update, revealing that his father was being tube-fed and had been unable to speak since being admitted to the ICU.
